Find your way around

A tour of the ark.flow Compta main menu: what each screen is for, and which entries depend on a module or a role.

Video tutorial · 0:43

The main menu on the left groups the screens by task. Click a group to open its first page and show its sub-pages. Screens that depend on a period show a period selector at the top of the page.

The main menu

Group Screen What it’s for
Dashboard Overview: entries to approve, result, VAT, largest expenses and accounting alerts for the period
Entries Entries Review, approve and correct entries. See Approve the AI’s proposals
Import Import bank statements and transactions. See Import a camt.053 statement
Payroll Salaries received from ark.admin. The entry appears once ark.admin has sent payslips
Documents Documents Invoices, receipts and other supporting documents. See Receive invoices and receipts
Duplicates Identical files removed automatically, and doubtful cases for you to decide
Accounting Financial statements Balance sheet, Income statement and Trial balance, with the items to check. See Check a period
Chart of accounts Accounts, bank accounts and import sources. See Prepare your chart of accounts
VAT Estimate, period comparison and deadlines. See Follow the VAT estimate
Management Analytics Financial, Profit, Vendors and Clients tabs
Projects Documents and entries grouped by project reference. Projects module
Checks and closing Audit Period checks and accounting alerts. See Check a period
Closing Accruals, closing and locking periods. See Close and lock a period
My accountant Requests, annotations and documents from your accountant, when one is connected

Import, Closing and My accountant only appear for roles that are allowed to use them, by default administrators. A group with a single page doesn’t open a sub-menu.

The account menu

At the bottom of the main menu, click your name to open the account menu:

  • Settings: profile, company, VAT, users, modules and other settings;
  • Getting started: the setup guide, for administrators. See Getting started;
  • Subscription: plan, payments and invoices, for administrators;
  • Appearance: the display theme;
  • Help, Service status and Sign out.

Optional modules

Some entries only appear when their module is on. An administrator turns modules on under Settings, Modules:

  • Projects: the Projects screen;
  • Analytics: departments, salaries per department and analytic codes. See Create departments;
  • Advanced tools: CK1 diagnostics, OCR comparison, maintenance, AI model catalogue and per-task routing.

Turning a module off keeps its data. If you open the page of a module that is off, it shows Module not enabled.
