Bank imports

Import expense reports

Import a list of expenses from a CSV file or by pasting from a spreadsheet, then check the suggested accounts.

The expense report import turns a list of expenses into entries. It suits expenses paid by an employee, or any list prepared in a spreadsheet.

Prepare the list

The list needs four columns, with this header row. The column names stay in French, as the import expects them:

Date Descriptif Débit Crédit
03.10.2026 Train Lausanne–Bern 64.00
05.10.2026 Client lunch 86.50
  • Débit: an expense. Crédit: money received, for example a refund.
  • Dates in dd.mm.yyyy or yyyy-mm-dd format are read.
  • Add [Remboursement] to the description to reverse a line.

Import

  1. Open Import, then Expense report and Import.
  2. Drop the CSV file, or copy the rows in your spreadsheet and paste them with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac).
  3. If you pasted a table, check the detected columns.
  4. Review the proposals, then click Import all or Import selected.

The suggested accounts

The expense account is suggested from words in the description. These words are French: “repas” or “restaurant” map to entertainment expenses, “train”, “taxi” or “parking” to travel expenses, “assurance” to insurance. If no word is recognised, the suggestion is 6500 Other expenses. Confidence is 70%, so review every line.

To support the expenses, add the receipts in Documents and link them to the entries.
